We had fun, too.
Our Lightning Dragons participated in the Handicap Awareness Trail, where one partner is "blind" (wearing blackened goggles) and the other is "deaf" (wearing headsets that muffle sound). They learned what it was like to lose one of their five senses, if even for a short while. They also participated in the Challenge Center's program, went on a hike around Yawgoog Pond amd learned about what can be eaten in the wild on a "wild edibles hike".
Our Phantoms spent most of the week earning rank advancements and merit badges. When they weren't busy with that, they went swimming, canoeing, did a more advanced program in the Challenge Center (one which involved more teamwork, communication, etc.)
Our Dancing Bears were the ones responsible for our second place finish in the bake-off with an entry called the "Le-ras-cherry-gasm" a concoction of cake (baked in a Dutch oven), rasberry filling, and lemon and cherry topping. We only wish the camp staff had left some for us to have.
